Community Seed Swap
Saturday, Jan. 29 at Meadowlark Coffee & Espresso
Are you a seed saver, or interested in learning how to save seeds from one season to the next? Kick start your garden this year with a seed swap! Open Harvest will host a community seed exchange for National Seed Swap Day, Saturday, January 29. We'll gather at Meadowlark Coffee & Espresso next to Open Harvest, starting at 1:00 p.m., to share gardening tips and, of course, seeds!
Bring seeds for vegetables, herbs, flowers, and native plants. Please be sure to label your seeds, and bring extra envelopes if you have them. Some supplies will be available at the event. We'll also have information about plant selection for the local climate, and additional seed sources.
Special guest speakers Evrett Lunquist from Common Good Farm will discuss seed saving techniques, and Amy Brt of Community CROPS will talk about biodiversity and the necessity of seed saving.
So save the date -- and your seeds -- and we'll see you there!
